Updated with even more details!

We’ve updated the following list with even more details that we have noticed since the gameplay trailer dropped — and you can see them all in the video above courtesy of the lovely Alex-from-Nintendo-Life. After literal years of waiting, we have finally had a look at some extended gameplay for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, introduced by legendary series producer Eiji Aonuma no less.

As a digital-only release.

As part of the 40th anniversary of the popular tactical turn-based strategy series Nobunaga’s Ambition, Koei Tecmo America has announced that we’re finally getting a new console game in the west.

Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening launches on the Switch eShop on 20th July. Previously referred to as Nobunaga’s Ambition: Rebirth, the game launched in Japan on the Switch in July 2022, and we weren’t sure we’d ever see this entry — which is the 16th title in the series — hit our shores. But we were wrong, and we’re ready to gather up our armies and celebrate.

New stages, bosses, power-ups and soundtrack.

D-Pad Studios might be best known for its story-based platformer Owlboy, but it is worth remembering that the developers were in fact behind another game prior to this, Savant – Ascent, and, neatly, that game is about to turn ten years old.

So what exactly does turning ten mean for this gorgeous shoot-em-up platformer? Well, a tenth-anniversary remastered edition is on its way and it’s bringing with it a boatload of new content.

“You’ve played enough hide-and-seek, my scurrying little friend”.

Last year, it was announced that the original Bayonetta would be getting a physical release having been exclusive to the eShop on Switch since the port arrived back in 2018. Physical Switch game collectors rejoiced and all was well.

However, following delays, and having released without incident in other territories, the My Nintendo Store exclusive appeared on the UK and European stores briefly in October but quickly sold out. Nintendo promised a restock, and copies are now available to purchase once more. Rejoicing may now recommence.

Mario Kart Tour has revealed that Yoshi’s Island — the brand new course that was added to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in Wave 4 of the Booster Course Pass — is coming to mobile racing game. But something else has caught people’s eye.

In the image of the new track, right behind the pipe, you can barely make out a racer in a kart. Zoom in, however, and you get a slightly better, if blurry, look at who that might be. And lo and behold, it’s Poochy driving a kart.

“We can’t wait for you to experience it!”.

You might recall how the Sonic Mania developer Headcannon had some involvement in Sonic Origins. Now, following the announcement of Sonic Origins Plus, the “indie game and utilities” developer has confirmed it’s “once again” cooperated with Sega to this time update the project.

In a lengthy series of tweets, it explained how it helped put Amy in the spotlight, helped out with Knuckles in Sonic CD and was able to supply “a few additional updates and enhancements” to help make this collection the “best it can be”. Here’s this announcement in full:

Tributes flood the socials.

Unless you’ve been living off the gaming grid for the past few days/weeks /months, you’ll no doubt already know that the 3DS and Wii U eShops are now closed for new business. You can still currently redownload any previous purchases from the online stores, but the window has closed on your last legal opportunity to get hold of many eShop exclusives on those consoles, and fans have been taking to social media to pay tribute to the shuttered stores.

Much of the colourful artwork features the little orange eShop bag from the 3DS eShop who would peep around the back of the game icon before those little coloured data cubes dropping and filling the icon with delicious orange… er, game data juice? Nothing so drab as a progress bar for Nintendo!
