As part of the 40th anniversary of the popular tactical turn-based strategy series Nobunaga’s Ambition, Koei Tecmo America has announced that we’re finally getting a new console game in the west.

Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening launches on the Switch eShop on 20th July. Previously referred to as Nobunaga’s Ambition: Rebirth, the game launched in Japan on the Switch in July 2022, and we weren’t sure we’d ever see this entry — which is the 16th title in the series — hit our shores. But we were wrong, and we’re ready to gather up our armies and celebrate.

New stages, bosses, power-ups and soundtrack.

D-Pad Studios might be best known for its story-based platformer Owlboy, but it is worth remembering that the developers were in fact behind another game prior to this, Savant – Ascent, and, neatly, that game is about to turn ten years old.

So what exactly does turning ten mean for this gorgeous shoot-em-up platformer? Well, a tenth-anniversary remastered edition is on its way and it’s bringing with it a boatload of new content.

Catch a Decidueye.

Earlier in March, The Pokémon Company announced its next 7-Star Tera Raid for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. It’s now officially arrived, with trainers around the world now able to catch a Decidueye with the Mightiest Mark.

This Pokémon will be available from 17th March until 19th March in black crystal Tera Raids and once again on 24th March until 26th March. This Decidueye is not normally encountered in the Paldea region, has Flying as its Tera Type as well as Mightiest Mark.

Update: Coming in April.

Update : After last month’s reveal, Berzerk Studio has announced that the Deux or Die update will be launching on 5th April.

“We are nearly finished testing”.

If you’re a fan of co-op beat ’em ups, one game you might want to check out is River City Girls 2. This series reimainged the classic Kunio-kun game when the original launched in 2019, and the second game only bolsters the fun with new characters, moves and more.

Following the second game’s release late last year, WayForward has now announced it will be rolling out a “performance patch” across all platforms including the Nintendo Switch. It’s still not finalised just yet, but when it does arrive, it’ll come with some frame rate enhancements, and there’ll also be the ability to “repeat New Game+ playthroughs” as well.
