Remote Raid Passes were “never intended” to dominate the experience.

Niantic’s hugely successful mobile title Pokémon GO has announced there are some changes coming to the game’s Remote Raid Passes early next month.

On 6th April 2023, trainers can expect price increases to Remote Raid Passes, new limits to the number of times you can participate in a Remote Raid per day (a maximum of five times per day), and various other Remote Raid adjustments. Niantic explained how it “never intended” Remote Raid Passes to dominate the experience:

Update: Well, it seems like we opened the floodgates! Ultra Dolphin Revolution has confirmed that it’s run out of codes for now, but fear not, the developer is going to try and get some more to give away to you lovely Wii U fans. (Thanks to Sunsy for the heads up!)

The party starts 25th April.

The Pokémon series is about to hit another big milestone this April in Japan. The Pokémon Center is about to celebrate its 25th anniversary and has opened a brand new website to prepare us (thanks, NintendoSoup!)

The 25th-anniversary website is a hub for all things Pokémon Center birthday-related and will have details on events, merchandise, and more taking place in Pokémon Center stores across the country. There’s a sweet little “thank you” message on the front page of the website, which you can read here (via Google Translate):

Bath Bob-omb.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie advertising campaign is firing on all cylinders right now, and the latest partnership is an unlikely union between the plumber and vegan cosmetics brand Lush.

Shared on Nintendo Wire (via GoNintendo), Lush is launching a whole new range of bathing and cosmetic products today, inspired by Mario and his friends. This is to tie in with the Mario Movie’s release on 5th April — not long now!

Wave 4 is almost here.

Wave 4 of the Fire Emblem Engage Expansion Pass lands on 4th April — or 5th April in Europe. And for Fire Emblem fans, this is likely the most exciting addition yet, as it brings in brand-new story content.

In an ominous trailer, which starts off with “your grave”, the Fell Xenologue will bring more story content to the base game, which is separate from the chapter structure, and will introduce brand new characters Ned and Nil. The pair say there are seven ‘Emblem Bracelets’, and four are missing — meaning there may well be some characters coming back to the fray.

“Warside is the game we have waited for”.

Last year, we covered Warside, a turn-based tactics game which sees you command a cute little pixelated army, which is due to come to Switch in 2023. It gave us major Advance Wars vibes. And today, developer Lavabird Games is finally launching the game’s Kickstarter today!

Looking to capture the spirit of the classic turn-based tactics genre so popular with Intelligent Systems’ series and “evolve” it further. Tactics fans have really been spoilt for choice over the last 12 months, from strategy RPGs to even the return of Advance Wars coming in April. But that hasn’t deterred Lavabird. If anything, it’s spurred them on, as per the press release:
