The mini-set Madness at The Darkmoon Faire expansion contains 35 new cards and will be available on January 21. There are two ways to purchase the new cards. The entire set can be purchased outright for $15 or 2,000 gold, which will get you two copies each of the common, rare and epic cards as well as one each of the legendary cards. The set includes four legendaries, which is a bargain at 2,000 gold. You can also get them randomly by purchasing Madness at Darkmoon Faire cards packs. Duplication protection works in a way that makes it easier to see the new Darkmoon cards faster if you decide to take the pack route. These cards include mechanics from previous expansions like Scholomance Academy’s Spellburst, dual-class cards and the Dormant keyword taken from Ashes of the Outland. These cards are here:
Given the recent Hearthstone cost controversy that was triggered recently by the new season pass, the mini set’s release was always going be an interesting turning point. The package is good value regardless of whether you pay with cash or fake money. It will be interesting to see if sentiments about the season pass have changed as we move towards the next expansion. It does feel like you can earn gold at a decent rate once you reach level 50. Most players would prefer to have cosmetics in the game, if given the option. We’ll see. Battlegrounds will be updated on January 21 with new heroes Tickatus, Greybough, and new minions Soul Devourer (and Ring Matron) to the game. Duels mode will also be updated with new treasures and hero powers. The number of hero abilities and treasures you can choose from will increase to three, while the number of treasures available will go up from six to six. Finally, the Book of Heroes singleplayer adventure will be released on February 2. This adventure focuses on Anduin, a young prince long before he is King of Stormhold. The solo experience earns players a priest pack. These are the top Hearthstone decks for 2021.
